Distribution of AGX License
Q.Will the AGX license be distributed before the competition? In case I would like to purchase the AGX license, what is the estimated cost?
A.Teams that will be selected to participate in the competition will have the option to rent the AGX license for free from the competition administration office. If you would like to use the license before then, it is possible to purchase the license directly from VMC Motion Technologies. For university use (1 year license, usable for up to 5 computers), the price in April 2024 (including tax) was ¥121,000. Please reach out directly to VMC Motion Technologies for further inquiries regarding license purchases.
Q.When will the license be available to rent for free? Up to how many computers can the license provided by the competition administration office be used?
A.The license will be available to rent for free after the team selection results are published. Each license provided by the competition administration office can be installed on only one computer, and each team may rent up to 2 licenses.
Programs
Q.Is it correct to assume that the competition administration will provide the computer that will be used for the competition (and will run the simulation program), and the competition participants are to bring a laptop for PC-ROS communication purposes? Does the laptop also require a GPU?
A.That is correct. The competition administration does not require a GPU. However, please consider whether your laptop would need a GPU for programs used to operate the robots.
